GPS Date Error: Year 2099 – How to Resolve It
On April 5, 2019, many car owners encountered an unexpected issue with their navigation systems. The date reset to August 2099, and altitude readings were inaccurate.
This problem stems from the GPS rollover – the end of one GPS time epoch and the start of another. Legacy systems depending on GPS for date, time, and altitude were particularly affected.
When the "Synchronize with GPS" option is enabled, the incorrect year is displayed as 2099:

Systems with PSA RNEG firmware versions R20.XX, R30.XX, and R40.XX are known to be affected.
